I have finally got my shipment of A6 postcards brought to me and they’re now for sale over at Etsy. They cost £1.00 each or £8.00 for a bundle of 10 mixed cards. Just follow the link in the “shop” section to see them.
I have taken the step to get some of my best works printed in A6 postcard form to be sold. They’ll arrive in 2 weeks time hopefully and before then, i’ll be buying a few necessary items in order to send out postcards in packs of 10. I’ll be uploading all details to my Etsy store when everything is ready and i’ll post on here, Facebook and Twitter to get things started. Onwards and upwards 🙂
Over the last few weeks, i’ve been fiddling around with my camera for the 1st time since January. I participated on a couple of day tours that took me all over Scotland which was simply amazing. I don’t get to see the country often, in fact i hardly venture outside Glasgow, but i think i’ll change that because some of the sites i saw were absolutely stunning. From beautiful architecture, gigantic mountains that certinly made me feel small and vast lochs that were much bigger than i imagined. If you would like to see some examples of my shots, please visit my Flickr page where i’ll be updating with all shots i took on my travels. I would post them here but i don’t want to bombard this page with each new photo that i process 😉 https://www.flickr.com/photos/120659273@N07/
I had another opportunity to work with local band The Face On The Moon back on the 14th. The gig was held at The Vale bar in Glasgow, one i’ve never been to before and like the last one, it was quite small but this time around the lighting was much better and i had more freedom to capture all band members. Only downside is that i really must invest in a better lens that will allow a more open aperture to work better in low light conditions as most if not all of my images came out quite noisy (grainy). When converted to black and white, it’s not so bad, but when in colour, it’s nothing fantastic but not bad either. You can see all of the processed images by going to the TFOTM Facebook page located https://www.facebook.com/thefaceonthemoonmusic?fref=ts
I haven’t done anything new after the New Year, well except for a quick trip to Glasgow which proved rather pointless, but i decided to try something new until i can really get out and about when the good weather returns. I was given a freebie temporary magazine subscription because i play the People’s Postcode Lottery and one of the subscriptions was digital photograpy, so naturally i opted for that. It was either that or cars as the rest didn’t appeal to me whatsoever but cars seemed the more interesting of the bunch after photography even though i know very little about cars. Anyway the magazine was full of useful info for a beginner like me and it also contained some photoshop tutorials, not only to make a photo look more presentable but tutorials on how to give photos a completely new look. So i decided to dabble with a […]
I know i said i’d be posting stuff up by now but with all the recent bad weather of snow, wind and rain, i just haven’t had the heart to go wandering with the camera. If it was only cold then i’d have no problems getting out and about but i don’t fancy getting soaked in the process. But saying all that, that simply means i have nothing new to showcase for now but i may just take a trip to the Riverside Museum on Thursday where i’ll be indoors all of the time. Also in other news, i’ll be doing some more gig photography for local band The Face on the Moon at The Vale bar in Glasgow on February 14th and there may be a couple more shoots to do in april and may but i’ll let the band decide on that. Anyway, if i do go out […]
I have been so busy with one thing after another that i haven’t really had the chance to do any photo related work for myself or for anyone else as i believe things become busy during the warmer seasons…but who knows. On top of that, my computer had major issues and the result was all my photos being erased which put a dampener on things and i lost the will to do any photos. But i’ll be back after the New Year with new photos and taking advantage of the longer nights as i want to go back to Glasgow and capture night shots, when the weather isn’t either wet or windy as anything! Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
I know i haven’t updated this much for quite a while now but i was gone on holiday for a month and haven’t been up to much else photo wise, but i hope to get back into the swing of things very soon and update this as much as i can.
Back on Saturday, August 16, i attended a small concert for the sole purpose of taking photographs at Shadow Sound at Glasgow city centre, which is a first for me as i never done anything like it before. Now, where do i begin? Well before i start about my experience, i just have to mention that the bands (headlining were “The Face On The Moon” and supporting them was “Thank the Boy” and “Cloud of Starlings”) were amazing. Only one cover of a song was played by Thank the Boy and the rest of the songs played throughout the duration from all 3 acts were originals and were all fantastic. Now to begin. Well i should mention the venue as it was something i did not expect when i turned up. As i said, the gig was held at Shadow Sound and i didn’t expect the place to have an […]
